Fusion is clean, safe, and abundant.

Clean: The process produces no greenhouse gases and does not produce long lived radioactive waste.

Safe: Fusion cannot sustain a runaway chain reaction. It requires precise conditions to keep going. If anything goes wrong (like a power cut or equipment failure), the reaction simply stops. There is no risk of a “meltdown” like there is in nuclear fission power plants.

Abundant: The fuel for fusion is hydrogen that can be extracted from seawater. A small amount of fuel, roughly the size of a pineapple, could provide as much energy as 10,000 tonnes of coal.
